There is much power in short prayers!
Do you ever see a family member or a friend on social media, asking desperately for prayers? But you are in a hurry, so you feel that a short prayer won’t be enough? You feel that you need to write thier name down because you will “need” to go back and pray for them later in your prayer closet, when you have more time?
Believe it or not, if you stop and cry out to the Lord and ask Him to please help that person, He hears you, and He answers you.. even though your prayer was a short one!
Did you know that in Acts 16, while Paul was grieved in his spirit, it only took a 14 word prayer, to deliver a woman of the spirit of divination!
Simon Peter prayed a one sentence prayer and a man who never walked before, from birth, got up and put a bed on his back and ran through the streets shouting praise to Jesus!
While we see thousands of books filled with different “ritualistic” prayers ” to say regarding different things… the truth is, all it really takes is a passionate cry out to Jesus for Him to come and answer your prayer!
When JESUS was asked, “how we should pray?”, He gave us a 20 second prayer.. not a chapter in a book, but instead, a 20 second prayer!
Luke 11:1-4 KJV
[1] And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. [2] And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. [3] Give us day by day our daily bread. [4] And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
These short prayers should not be taken lightly, we need to remember that anytime we petition God with prayer, spiritually, we are presenting ourselves before Him.. we enter His throne room, and He is listening to us! That is a BIG DEAL!
We need to be passionate about prayer and remember that when we pray, we are communicating with the KING, the creator of ALL things… HE CAN HANDLE ANYTHING! 🙌🙌
WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!! 🙏❤️🙏
So if you see that someone needs prayer, lift that person up by simply calling out to Jesus, and asking Him to answer their prayer, and it must be heartfelt! He WILL listen! How awsome is that?
Sometimes it only takes a quick, passionate, “JESUS!!!!!”
